Neurotoxins for Wrinkle Reduction and Medical Conditions
Allure Aesthetic Center offers the most popular and well-known anti-aging injections to reduce facial wrinkles and relieve different medical conditions. Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin are formed from a botulinum toxin type A which is used to decrease movements and relax facial muscle tissue.
Repeated muscle contractions lead to the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. All four treatments temporarily reduce the appearance of crows’ feet lines around eyes and frowning lines between the brows and forehead.
Repeated injections are advised to prevent new wrinkles from forming, and our medical providers will provide you with instructions when you should come back for touch ups.

PRICE
Botox
$12/unit
Botox Cosmetics is the most popular aesthetic treatment for reduction of wrinkles. It is used to temporarily relax facial muscles, improving frown lines between the eyebrows, around eyes and on the forehead without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. It was broadly studied and approved in 78 countries and got FDA approval in 2002.
Jeuveau
$10/unit
Jeuveau is meant to be a play on the French word “nouveau” which means “recent” or “modern,” and is currently referred to as the “New Botox,” or “Newtox.” Both Botox and Jeuveau are injectable neurotoxin medications, made from botulinum toxin Type A, and both work on the same principle to temporarily relax muscle in between the eyes, forehead and crow’s feet, smoothing out the wrinkles and creases in the face. However, there are minor differences in the manufacturing processes for each product, and those minor differences can result in Botox being a little more effective for certain patients, and Jeuveau a little more effective for others. Overall, however, they are incredibly similar in nature.
Since 2019 Jeuveau has been FDA approved in the United States.
Dysport
$5/unit
Dysport (botulinum toxin type A, which is isolated and purified from Clostridium bacteria producing BoNT-A) is a prescription injection; used as an alternative to Botox Cosmetics, to temporarily relax facial muscles, improving frown lines between the eyebrows, around eyes and on the forehead without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Dysport is approved in 57 countries and clinically used over 25 years.
Since 2009 Dysport has been FDA approved in the United States.
Xeomin
$10/unit
Xeomin is another FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injectable used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). Unlike Botox or Dysport, Xeomin is a “naked” neurotoxin, meaning it contains no additives, just the purified botulinum toxin. This purity may reduce the risk of developing resistance over time.
Xeomin works by blocking the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions, resulting in smoother skin and a more refreshed appearance.
FDA-approved in the U.S. since 2010.
Please note that all touch ups must be done within 14-21 days after your treatment.
Minimum amount of units per treatment: Botox 20 units, Dysport 40 units, Jeuveau 20 units, Xeomin 20 units

Frequently Asked Questions
What are neurotoxins, and how do they work for wrinkle reduction?
Neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin are injectable treatments made from botulinum toxin type A. They temporarily relax targeted facial muscles by blocking nerve signals, reducing the appearance of unwanted wrinkles and fine lines caused by repeated muscle contractions.
How long do neurotoxin results typically last?
Results from neurotoxin treatments usually last three to four months, depending on the individual and the area treated. Regular touch-ups are recommended to maintain the effects and prevent new wrinkles from forming.
Are neurotoxin injections safe?
Yes, neurotoxin injections are FDA-approved and widely studied for safety and effectiveness. While they are minimally invasive and generally safe, some temporary side effects like swelling, bruising, or mild headaches might occur. Your Allure Aesthetics Center medical provider will review your medical history before administering treatment.
What are the potential risks?
While neurotoxin treatments are generally safe and minimally invasive, it’s important to understand the potential risks and side effects, which can include temporary discomfort or swelling at the injection site, headache or mild flu-like symptoms following treatment, and minor bruising or redness in treated areas. While rare, more severe side effects can include drooping of eyelids or eyebrows (usually temporary), muscle weakness due to interaction with the peripheral nervous system, rare neurotoxic effects (such as localized numbness or tingling), changes in the autonomic nervous system, and interruption of neurotransmitter molecules (leading to temporary muscle relaxation). Because neurotoxins interact with the peripheral nervous system and nervous tissue, individuals with nervous tissue sensitivities or conditions affecting voltage-gated sodium channels or gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) pathways should approach treatment cautiously.
Our specialists will carefully assess your medical history and health status to minimize any potential risks.
Can neurotoxins be used for medical conditions?
Yes, neurotoxins are not just for cosmetic purposes. They can also help relieve chronic migraines, reduce excessive sweating, and provide therapeutic benefits for conditions like muscle tension or rheumatoid arthritis symptoms.
How do I know if I’m a good candidate for neurotoxin treatment?
Ideal candidates are adults in good overall health who want to reduce wrinkles or address specific medical concerns. If you have a history of severe allergies to botulinum toxin or certain medical conditions affecting the nervous system, consult with our specialists to determine if this treatment is right for you.
