Collagen Induction Therapy (Microneedling)/Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)
Allure Aesthetic Center is pleased to offer Microneedling, one of the most innovative cosmetic treatments available today. This treatment can provide an amazing way to rejuvenate the skin by stimulating natural, healthy collagen production. When treatments are provided by one of our licensed and experienced medical aestheticians clients can see visible signs of aging like wrinkles as well as other imperfections like sun damage, scarring, and uneven skin texture diminish.
Microneedling can also be used for hair restoration by using the same collagen stimulating technology for hair follicles. Allure Aesthetic Center also offers Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. This treatment is Microneedling with the added benefit of using your own plasma. The process begins by numbing the face with medical grade numbing cream. This sits on the skin for some time, ensuring all patients are as comfortable as possible. We then use our microneedling pen to penetrate the skin, creating microscopic punctures. By utilizing the body’s natural healing properties, PRP helps promote healing, cell turnover, as well as increases the stimulation of healthy collagen providing healthier, younger-looking skin. Microneedling: What is it And What Does it Do?
One of the hottest trends in skincare is collagen induction therapy, more commonly known as microneedling. There are different tools that can be used to perform a microneedling treatment as well as many different additional products and services available for each client. There are plenty of questions circling around about microneedling treatments, so let’s try to answer some of them!
What is microneedling?
So, what exactly is microneedling? Microneedling is a minimally invasive skincare treatment that uses micro-needles to puncture the skin, stimulating the body’s natural wound repair system which then produces collagen. The procedure begins by cleaning the skin, followed by a generous amount of topical numbing cream. This ensures that each patient is as comfortable during the procedure as possible. Once the numbing cream has taken full effect, the skin is again cleansed, sterilized, and prepped for treatment.
What is it good for?
Microneedling is ideal for treating acne scars, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and stretch marks. This treatment boosts collagen promotes healthy circulation, and helps to tighten and lift skin, reduce pore size, all while resurfacing skin tone and texture.
Who is a good candidate for microneedling and who should avoid it?
Microneedling is safe for all skin types. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding should not get microneedled, or if you have active breakouts, cystic acne, or any open lesions such as cold sores as microneedling can spread the bacteria around the face causing a severe outbreak or infection.
How frequently should someone get a microneedling treatment?
It is highly recommended to get repeat treatments in order for the best results. Depending on your skin type and concerns, packages of 3, 6, or 9 may be recommended spaced at least one month apart. It is important to stay consistent with your treatments as well as follow any and all post care instructions.
How long is the healing process?
Skin is as unique as a finger print – everyone is different. Immediately after your procedure you can expect the skin to appear as if it is deeply sunburned. The redness should go down anywhere from 12-24 hours. The total time it will take for the skin to completely heal is anywhere from 2 to 7 days. For the first 24 hours it is strongly encouraged to stay out of places that are full of bacteria, such as the gym or grocery store, as your skin is completely exposed and at a higher risk of bacterial infection. Makeup can be applied after 24 hours, as well as returning to your every-day routine.
What Can I expect from one microneedling treatment?
Immediately after your microneedling treatment the skin will appear deeply red, some areas may be worse than others. In the days to follow you can expect light to medium peeling. This is normal and means that the skin is in the process of its usual wound repair. One week following the treatment, once the skin has subsided peeling, you can expect glowing, firmer, radiant looking skin.
What tool is used during a microneedling treatment?
There are two different types of tools that can be used for microneedling; a microneedling pen and a roller. Here at Allure Aesthetic Center we only use a pen to perform our microneedling treatments. When using a professional microneedling pen, medical professionals are able to safely go deeper into the layers of skin, ensuring better and safer results. Pens are also much safer and more hygienic, as a new microneedling tip is placed on prior to each new client. If an at home roller is not properly cleansed, bacteria and disease can be spread throughout the skin. It is very important to only receive a microneedling treatment from trained professionals with sterile equipment.
Can I add anything to my microneedling treatment?
During our traditional microneedling treatment, a hyaluronic acid is used as a lubricant as well as a serum that is penetrated into the skin. Here at Allure Aesthetic Center we also offer platelet-rich-plasma microneedling where we take the clients blood and spin it in a centrifuge where we are able to separate the plasma from the red blood cells and use that plasma as the lubricant and serum in place of the hyaluronic acid. We also offer a microdermabrasion prior to treatment for a more aggressive approach, as well as offer the option to add on the neck or chest. Here at Allure Aesthetic Center we are able to microneedle different areas of the body including the face, neck, chest, hands, and other areas that you are wanting to firm, tighten, and rejuvenate.
